A Mechanical Pit Leveler is a fully automatic loading ramp where there is no dock attendant needed. It consists of a lift by-pass for safety and toe guards on each side. As the truck backs against the twin actuating arms, or bumpers, it pushes the carriage back. Both the dock and trailer must be raised for this process to work. As the carriage goes back the deck goes up. When the carriage bumpers contact the dock, the deck floats down to rest on the trailer. Once the truck pulls out, the deck then returns to level supported position automatically.

Features:

  • 55,000 pound minimum yield steel tread plate
  • Full length deck support beams fully welded to full width header plate
  • Positive Hold Down device compensates for vertical float of trailer
  • Conveniently located pull chain provides easy activation of the deck and lip
  • Direct extension spring provides easy walk down; no moving parts to wear out
  • Standard working range toe guards and grease fittings on lip hinge
  • Safety legs automatically provide multiple below dock safety points
  • Molded bumpers protect the dock face and leveler from truck impact damage
  • Fixed rear hinge

Truck Scissor Dock Lifts have a pit or surface mount with an optional approach ramp. Engineered and designed for maximum safety and efficiency, the checkered plate deck is made of heavy gauge steel for years of use. Hydraulic cylinders feature emergency safety velocity fuse if the line breaks. It also comes with an upper travel limit switch and overload relief valve. The push-button control is on a 20 foot long coil cord, and the pre-wired control box includes a magnetic starter and an overload fuse. High visibility safety yellow removable handrails with fixed toe boards are standard. Includes beveled toe-guards and electric toe-guards around the perimeter of the platform. An external 6.5 HP 460V, 3-phase, 60 Hz motor can be located up to 8 feet away from lift (weighs 300 pounds)

Safety Features:

The electric toe-guard is a patented feature essential to the safety of all personnel. The guard is made from L-shaped aluminum extrusion and hangs below the entire perimeter of the deck. If the Scissor Dock is being lowered while an object such as a person’s hand or foot is in its path, the guard will be triggered and electrically stop the table from lowering. Once the object is removed, the table will once again be operable; there is no need to reset the unit.
