Advantages:

  • Low dead weight and more headroom by using a low headroom monorail hoist. It is the most economical solution in buildings with a span over 90 ft.
  • Lower production cost, and therefore lower price, than a double girder model.

Features:

  • Best utilized where reliability and long term maintenance savings are important
  • Generally move at higher speeds than underhung cranes with speeds approaching 200 fpm.
  • Excellent headroom
  • Available in 1 to 20 ton capacities with spans that can exceed 85 ft.
  • Remote controls and pendants traveling along an independent track are available to keep operators a safe distance from the working load.
  • Many sizes and capacities are pre-engineered for quicker delivery dates.

Applications:

  • Wire mill
  • Handling coils
  • Mold handling
  • Metal storage
  • Fabrication
  • Stamping

Capacity:  1 – 20 tons

Lift Height:  21 – 139 ft

Trolley Hoist Weight:  740 – 2510 lbs

Max Span:  60 – 85 ft

Under Running Cranes are distinguished by the fact that they are supported from a ceiling structure and run on the bottom flange of structural members.

Typical load capacities range up to 10 tons, but special designs up to 25 tons are available.

Advantages:

  • Very small trolley approach dimensions meaning maximum utilization of the building’s width and height.
  • The possibility of using the existing ceiling girder for securing the crane track.

Features:

  • Use where speed requirements are 120 fpm per minute or less and where economy is important.
  • Bridge cranes are available with radio controls and independent traveling pendants.
  • Some bridge cranes can be pre-engineered to allow for quick delivery.

Applications:

  • Equipment Assembly
  • Die Handling
  • Production
  • Loading and Unloading
  • Metal Grinding Cells
  • Maintenance
  • Suitable to run on I-beams, W-flanged beams and patented track runways
  • Practically used in spans of 50 ft and less (Longer spans available up to 100 ft.) with the use of a third runway.

Capacity:  1 – 15 tons

Lift Height:  22 – 126 ft

Trolley Hoist Weight:  740 – 2510 lbs

Max Span:  60 ft

The advantages of double girder traveling bridge cranes become particularly evident with load capacities over 10 tons, or spans of over 50′.

Advantages:

Higher hook lift – the hook can be pulled up between the main girders.

Extremely rigid girder construction and durable trolley design are well suited for heavy service applications.

Features:

  • Available in almost unlimited capacities
  • Commonly built with either 4 or in some cases 8 wheels (double bogie type).
  • Can be designed to have two hoists on a single trolley or two separate hoists
  • Generally move at higher speeds than underhung cranes with speeds approaching 200 fpm.
  • Free traveling pendants and radio controls are available for safe and remote control

Applications:

  • Coil handling
  • Paper roll handling
  • Relocating Dies
  • Steel Slitting
  • Foundries
  • Forging plants

Capacity:  3 – 150 tons

Lift Height:  21 – 82 ft

Trolley Hoist Weight:  2115 – 8030 lbs

Max Span:  60 & 100 ft

Features & Benefits

  • Superior to I-Beams in strength, durability, and consistency
  • Extended track life compared to I-Beam Systems
  • System expansions are easy and cost effective
  • Straight rails result in easy, predictable, cost effective installations
  • Efficient spanning capabilities eliminates costly additional supporting structures
  • Raised tread tarca track provides durability and superior safety
  • Flexible suspensions provides for longer life and less maintenance

Applications

  • Hot metal
  • Necropsy Lab
  • High duty cycle applications
  • Parts Assembly
  • Warehouse loading docks
  • Process Equipment Maintenance
  • Truck Service Centers
